charming hotel, front desk guy was SO helpful & nice. it is hard to find - i stopped at a pharmacy to ask for location, they didn't know & it was about 3 minute walking beyond. to find it, you can walk from the train station (10-15 min) towards the main plaza, keep going almost to the end. on the right tucked in the back, after the shops, is the entrance. only complaint is no tv channels in english. which normally isn't important, except that everything in the town except restaurants closes by 6pm so relaxing in the evening with tv is not going to happen. otherwise, loved it!

Perfektes Wochenende in Locarno und Umgebung
Ganz spontan habe ich zwei Tage in Locarno verbracht, ein Hotel gesucht und mit dem Albergo America eine perfekte Unterkunft gefunden. Ich werde sicher wieder einmal kommen.

Incredible stay
Family owned, amazing stay and gracious hosts. The co-owner, (Manuel) was helpful planning our stay and was so excited to show us his hotel. From the unique Grotto, its history to the history of Lacarno. His English was impeccable and we felt very welcome and relaxed.

Habe mit meiner Tochter 4 Nächte im Hotel verbracht. Freundliches Personal und gutes Frühstück. Hatten ein sehr kleines Zimmer, doch sonst alles in Ordning!

Super gelegen! Zimmer ohne Klimaanlage. Es stand ein Kühlgerät im Zimmer. War aber nicht genügend.

Wir waren am Moon&Stars und haben auf Empfehlung das America gebucht. Der Empfang vom jungen Herrn an der Reception war so herzlich, dass wir uns sofort wohlgefühlt haben. Sowieso ist das Personal, neben der Lage direkt an der Piazza Grande, das Herzstück des kleinen, aber feinen inhaberingeführten Hotels. Einzig das Frühstück hat ein wenig enttäuscht, für den Preis von CHF 25 bekommt man nicht so viel. Wir freuen uns schon auf einen weiteren Besuch dort!
